The term ergonomics comes from the Greek words “ergon” (work) and “nomos” (law). Put simply, ergonomics is the science of designing the working environment such that people can work safely, efficiently and comfortably. This design discipline also takes into account the sensory interactions between the workplace and workers. For example, although colors can make the workplace restful, they can also serve as a warning; noise should not be too loud – and certainly should last no longer than necessary, and no worker should be expected to perform excessively heavy or prolonged duty.
With this in mind, ergonomics are fundamental to our wireless remote controls. In the first place, the wireless functionality of these devices is itself an intrinsically ergonomic aspect. It enables the user to operate a crane or other machine at a safe distance, in a convenient manner, and with minimum risk to their health. Moreover, due to the absence of a cable, the operator can work from a position that gives offers the best overview of the situation – and this also contributes to overall safety and efficiency.
Sturdy and intuitive
Of course, our engineers have given maximum attention to ergonomics in the design of our remote control units. For example, these sturdy units are designed to be easy to grip, which means fewer interruptions due to tired or strained hands, fingers and arms. In addition, the surface is pleasant and smooth to the touch, and yet tacky enough to ensure a positive grip. This is true of our handheld units as well as our bellybox remote controllers with joystick.
Moreover, the layout and function of the buttons can be specified with maximum flexibility, and we can fully customize the programming of each remote control, so that users can perform their work intuitively, safely and efficiently. Operating machines remotely has never been so easy and safe. The buttons also provide a two-step tactile feedback. Pressing until the first tactile click means “starts device”; pressing further – until the second click – means “increase speed” (depending on function).
