Strong Machines: “Tele Radio are more than a supplier – they are a strategic partner”
Local availability of spare parts, in-house training of personnel, and agility in supply and service – these are the reasons Strong Machines chose Tele Radio.
When lifting loads with two overhead cranes working in tandem, there’s no room for error. For Strong Machines, a Brazilian manufacturer based in the country’s southernmost province, this is a daily reality. “Our partnership with Tele Radio allows us to monitor our tandem operations at all times.”
Tandem crane operations present risks. Cranes operating in parallel must move in perfect unison. When handling long or heavy loads, even small misalignments can cause dangerous tension imbalances or equipment damage.
Strong Machines, which is located in Caxias do Sul, in the south of Brazil, needed wireless control that would give operators complete freedom of movement, without compromising precision.
Smooth, accurate load handling with Tele Radio Tiger
Tele Radio’s Tiger system addresses these challenges. Its proportional controls let operators adjust movement speed by varying the pressure applied to control buttons – essential for smooth, accurate load handling. The emergency stop, which is PLd/SIL3-certified, instantly halts operations when triggered.
In tandem mode, a single transmitter controls both cranes simultaneously. Cranes move forward, backward, or sideways in perfect unison. Operators switch between individual and synchronized control depending on the task at hand.
“Tele Radio proved more than a supplier – they became a strategic partner that understands our challenges, supports us with training, and delivers a solution that perfectly matches our product.”

On-site training and ongoing technical support
Strong Machines chose Tele Radio for reasons beyond hardware. Installation was completed quickly and with minimal disruption – essential for maintaining production schedules. In addition, Tele Radio provided on-site training and ongoing technical support, ensuring the Strong Machines team could operate the system effectively from day one.
The Challenge
- Precision and coordination: operating two overhead cranes simultaneously requires perfect synchronization – even small misalignments can cause tension imbalances leading to equipment damage and accidents on site.
- Operator safety and mobility: operators need complete freedom of movement without losing precise control.
- Downtime minimization: implementation of a new wireless control system had to cause minimal production interruption.
The Solution
- Flexibility: one operator controls both cranes from any optimal vantage point.
- Proportional control: precise adjustment of crane movement speeds.
- Certification: PLd/SIL3-certified emergency stop ensures immediate shutdown.
- Synchronization: continuous communication between cranes ensures perfect alignment.
- Installation: minimal modifications required to existing equipment.
- Support: Tele Radio Brazil provided full on-site operator training and assistance.
