EVA Optic: “When we called Tele Radio, it was sorted within three weeks

When the remote control that EVA Optic uses proves unreliable just before an international trade show, there is an urgent need. “We had three weeks left and no alternatives,” recalls head of purchasing Pieter Kikkert. “When I called Richard, it was sorted within three weeks.”

“Pieter had not a day to spare.” Tele Radio account manager Richard Kreunen looks back on an eventful start to the relationship between EVA Optic and Tele Radio. “Could I come up with a solution within three weeks and execute it — that was the question.”

Kreunen: “When I heard Pieter’s story, I suggested putting a custom foil on the remote control — a bespoke print. Because if you do it – especially in the run-up to such a prestigious trade show – you have to do it right. Everything came together perfectly just in time.”

1,000 remote controls

That was in 2023. Today, more than 1,000 EVA Optic customers use a Tele Radio remote control. The company, based in Zwartsluis near Zwolle, elevates private and public swimming pools to a higher level with professional LED lighting and counter-current swimming machines, and was looking for a solid alternative to the various remote controls that had already failed at the edge of a swimming pool

Head of purchasing Pieter Kikkert: “We have had multiple remote controls in our assortment and they all failed one by one. EVA Optic sells high-quality machines, and it’s simply not acceptable that the remote control we supply keeps letting us down. We discovered that when you’re looking for a functional and reliable remote control, you naturally end up with an industrial remote control.”

Simply easy to operate

EVA Optic chose the Panther PN-T7-16, a simple transmitter with three 1-step buttons. Jeanine Heutink, responsible for marketing, explains that the EVAstream user doesn’t benefit from complexity when following a swim training or having fun in the water. In those moments, the EVAstream simply needs to be easy to operate.

Heutink: “The more options there are, the more complicated it becomes. With the remote control, the basics are at hand: on and off, harder and softer, fast training and simple lighting control. If the customer wants more, it’s possible to create a fully personalised training programme using the EVA Optic web application.”
