Global Towing Systems: “Preventing operational loss requires the best remote control out there”
When a heavy-weight vehicle runs into difficulties, it’s the customers of Global Towing Systems that come to the rescue. “Crashed trucks, buses, and military vehicles are towing companies’ worst nightmares,” says Michel Noel, Managing Director at Global Towing Systems, or GTS.
“In order to reach a vehicle’s wheels, a recovery truck is stretched to its maximum capacity,” Michel explains from his office in Komló, in the south of Hungary. GTS manufacture superstructures for rescue vehicles. Since late 2023, it supplies Tele Radio wireless remote controls alongside.
Michel: “Our customers work with heavy-weight vehicles. Make a mistake, and an entire vehicle collapses.” It’s where the remote-control system kicks in. “If you want to avoid breaking critical parts, you need the best remote control out there. The sensitivity of Tele Radio equipment enables operators to lift heavy-weight vehicles smoothly and play with the load in the best way possible.”

Proportionality: the crux during heavy operations
Michel appreciates how Tele Radio is involved in the development of GTS’s business. “Our factory was visited by Tele Radio representatives twice in as little as a year time. They take the time to understand our proposition and offer remote control solutions that befit our products.”
There are more reasons, however, that led GTS to opt for Tele Radio. “The remote controls come with proportionality, which can be crucial to operational success. The degree of pressure applied to a button affects movement in real time. Tele Radio remote controls facilitate extremely slow movement, which, in our field of work, can be a lifesaver.”
“Our customers now control their recovery vehicles from a distance as far as 50 meters. Operators pull a cable to a damaged vehicle and start their recovery operation on the spot without having to walk back to the built-in control panel on a truck.”
Delivering the best service and components possible
GTS procure Tele Radio’s VersaTEQ and Panther systems. Depending on a customer’s location and requirements, in addition to the bigger-sized and more complex VersaTEQ, the company offers the smaller Panther version alongside, as an on/off remote control.
“When an operator crawls underneath a vehicle, they can’t always use the VersaTEQ, due to its size. In such a case, they can bring out the smaller Panther handheld remote control and still influence a significant portion of the recovery vehicle’s functions.”
“We aim to deliver the best service and components possible. Tele Radio neatly ties in with that ambition.”
